Recent Doll Loots and Doll Show 36

Not every parent will accept or let alone become supportive for their son’s otaku hobby especially when it comes to doll but I’m glad mine were those lucky few who does. One of the latest doll acquisition is this miniature 1/3 scale  blue and white porcelain tea set given to me by my good mother who is into vintage dish collecting, glass beads crafting and etc. This was one of her collection and heard this set was made by a famous company…or something. It’s not as flashy as the miniature tea set I bought at Volks Yokohama for 3000 yen but displays a mature look and feels genuine in a way. Another new item you ‘ll see is the customized DD-sized chair I bought at Doll Show 36 last Saturday for 12000 yen. The chair has no arm rest (which allows my girl to sit with their sword on their waists), comes with a tall decorative back with red cushion and was available in very limited quantity (x2). Both items were a pretty lucky find and think I might restart making my own photobooth :3 I’ve snapped a few pictures at Doll Show so I’ll include that in the latter half of the post.

Workspace 机周り 2012/11/5

Some diary-ish post on my otaku room and a couple of other things – It’s been almost 2 months since I started working from home and one thing I came to notice was how quiet the house was during the day and how long or maybe short that day was – you wake up in your room, work in your room, eat in your room, sleep in your room and the cycle goes on. Being the indoor type, I never minded environments like this and rather welcomed it. No need to ride the super-congested trains in the morning too which was great. However as the days passed, it’s come to my attention that it’s not always easy keeping your concentration up and working efficiently when you’re in a room with no windows and stuck with the same scenery. It’s not much but to alleviate some of the ongoing situation, I’ve spruced up my workspace over the few weeks by adding more lively figures, plants and some gadgets. Thought I lost my passion for figures after the dolls (Sora, Aura and Xera) came but it’s still there alright :3 Continue reading ‘Workspace 机周り 2012/11/5’

Hentai Homura-san and Doll Meet

Half a year has passed since I got my part time job in NND and even though it’s a pain to take a hour ride on the train to commute there, it does have it’s benefits. One good thing about having your work place near Akihabara is that you can visit there during lunch hours/before or after work and never miss out on limited sales tweeted by people like Akibablog. Was helped out by his tweets on a number of occasions starting with the acquirement of the Soul Gem keyholder and guidebooks (entrance pass) for otaku related events several months back.  Another is that you can check up on the streets of Akihabara regularly for any change and the latest achievement I think was discovering 2 new doll stores in the area. Now, the bad part is that when you have some spare change in your pockets you tend to buy unnecessary things just to relieve stress from work. The spending get’s even worse after you see other DD parent’s daughters on a post like this^^; Might have to fix this habit because I’m going to be given a chance to work as a full time employee here. For real this time I think (‘A`)

The following merchandises are just one of those sporadic spending and for some of them, you might not have a clue why I purchased them. If you haven’t heard of “Hentai Homura-san”, going through a few pics here might help your understanding.

Anyways, first up is Homura’s red spectacles~
