Last Friday me and the girls (Sora and Aura) visited the Culture Japan Night (CGM Night) held in Akihabara for the first time. The event, according to its host, was meant to be an event where people from around the world who shares the same passion can get together to socialize / make new friends or display their daughters if they are a doll owner. All you basically needed this time was a twitter account and 2000 yen for the entrance fee which included a curry and free drink bar that was served inside. Not being the really outgoing/socially active type of guy, I didn’t attend the previous CJ night 2 years ago but as many of you may have witnessed, a lot has changed since then^^; Saw a lot of familiar faces in the event like users from twitter, figure.fm and ended up talking with those people most of the time which kinda defeated the purpose of this event but…oh well (‘A`) Only had 2 hours total (arrived late) so my report might not be as detailed or as crisp as other attendants.
First we’ll start with my daughters, Sora (right) and Aura (left) who were cramped inside a tight carrying case at the work office most of the day for this event ;3

Vannila-Ville-san’s cute girl Erio :3 Really do quite admire how the make-up is done and how her clothes are coordinated.
Akaiyoutsuki-san’s Rise. She was a lot prettier than she looked in the pictures by Volks 
Hazuki-san’s custom Sakuya Izayoi girl wearing a cute dress. He also does a interesting figure review blog that you may want to see.
Syaoran-san’s Reimu girl wearing a cute school uniform and…hiding a spear in her back 0_0
Hotaru-san’s Rei and Asuka wearing a self-customized plug suit. Since he’s a dealer, I need to start bugging him to sell these sets at doll events XD
Famous doll bloggers were here to like Azure-san and his daughter Rina.
Rabisuke-san’s custom Sonico doll. Personally I like this Sonico better than the one by Yamato^^; His figure blog is also superb btw.
Cnvl-san’s cute Yuki. Really have to learn to pose like him ;3
Suzuhico-san and his daughter Shiko was also here. Apart from being a photographer, Suzuhico-san is also a dealer in a couple of doll events and the uniform she is wearing is one of their products. Aura’s red neck tie was also made by his circle btw :3 These 4 and a couple of other dolls were displayed at the cafe table instead of the doll display table because well….
…..yeah (‘ω`;) Loved the event but I hope Danny gets us a bigger display table next time.

CJ night was pretty fun and it was great to get to see you, Sora, and Aura at the event again ^^. They are as beautiful as always.
The event was very enjoyable with all the conversation and exchanging thoughts with both familiar and new faces. As for the “bigger table”, I totally agree about that as there weren’t really enough space for everyone’s daughters ><.

Yeah, there were also a lot of people who we don’t usually see at doll events like Sachihira-san and does feel in that sense fresh :3
Even if this couldn’t be done on a monthly basis, it would still be nice to have one of these events when there are no doll/figure events.
A bigger table…or mayhaps a simple guideline that specifies how much space the attendant’s daughter can take up X3
Had trouble placing mine so would appreciate that kinda…=P

Looks like a fun event CJ night, lots of DD owners indeed as I recognize quite a bit of their DD girls. Would love to be able to attend such an event one day and have the opportunity to meet you and those other DD owners since your work is inspiring. Though I’d like even more to be able to attend some sort of DD photo walk or workshop with you guys. (and absorb all your knowledge!) XD
Or maybe you can do both XD
Since they already have everything they need for an outdoor photoshoot, some groups get together and just go straight into photoshoot somewhere nearby after the event. With your Japanese skills I’m sure you’ll be able to absorb the attendant’s skills XD Doll people are often very eager to share their experiences and techniques they use too :3

先々週でしたっけ？あんときは帰りが遅かったから無縁でしたが、ドール以外も集まって楽しむという趣向はいいですなあ。

杏子は薔薇さんとジャンケンで競ったあの方（名前は忘れた）等に十分愛されているじゃないですか＾＾；

金曜の17:00-22:00だったので自分も途中参加
思いの外ドール達が豪勢に盛られていたので置く場所を探すのに苦労しましたね～
今後も開催される予定があるそうなのでそん時には是非是非～ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

but as with a ll large sized figures the details were not as crisp as with scale sized figures ;3

I am surprised too! Rise is actually looking pretty nice though personally she isn't for me ^_^. Laughed at Syaoran's Reimu hiding the spear X'D she's very cute! I have always loved Reimu even considered getting her but…ehh…I got my custom girls to worry about for now! XD Thanks for the awesome post as always Haku-kun! ^_^ Now…onward to Xera-chan's post!

Don’t get as much chance to talk with them so it was a good opportunity I think. Definitely one of the events in Japan or elsewhere in the world you should attend to :3
Photos by Volks has a reputation for lessening the attractiveness of dolls by 30% on average so yeah…^^; Same could be said for Syaoran’s Reimu who looked absolutely fabulous today.

Oh I was at CGN Japan 2 years ago; it happened to have coincide with my Tokyo trip so I gave it a try and went in, though I was even more of an outsider back then since my knowledge of dolls was near nil at that time, so I focused mostly on the figures ^^;
A lot of dolls that caught my eyes there along with those who appeared in Dollpa earlier, like Sonico or Nymph!
It’s funny how Volks’ dolls look much better in person and in other people’s pictures than those official ones released from them – for many cases it’s usually the other way round ^^;
Will be great if I can attend another one in the future with a slightly different perspective to that I have 2 years ago!

Same here…well almost^^; I remember signing up for the event but didn’t quite make it to the event partly because of the lack of connections I had with dolls, figure.fm or any other otaku related SNS.

True…kinda like the food sample pictures on the menu at McDonalds and the actual product you get to eat^^;

It’s definitely worth your time but if you do, make sure you come in quick to display your daughter^^; I didn’t take the picture of the entire doll table but it can get pretty crazy ;3
