Well, it’s been 3 good months since I last a bought clothing for my daughters and was about to run out of ideas for these posts but just last week I was fortunate enough to come by one that suited my daughters taste in fashion ; fashion which isn’t all that casual and has a mixture of fantasy-like (?) atmosphere to it. The moment I saw it on YJA, intuition told me that it would be a perfect alternative dress for Sorahomu (Sora cosplaying as Homura) and a perfect matching dress for Aura’s puella magi-ish dress. The bid war ended earlier than I expected pricing around 17000 yen and the sending country was Shanghai which meant that it’d only take 2 days for it to arrive. Sadly the proxy guy who was in charge of taking contact turned out to be a lazy bum who neglected to respond to my mail for 4 days delaying the arrival of the clothes by nearly a week :/
I’ve had worse though. The guy who sold me Aura’s head (DD Mio head) didn’t respond to my mail for a week and when the package arrived, I was aghast by the sight of Aura’s bare head covered in newspaper. The head was miraculously not stained but any doll owner with a common sense should know better than to wrap the head in such a thing. The wig that came with the head was crumpled in the bottom of the box rendering it useless leaving me no choice but to throw it away. What’s more is that when I gave this seller the evaluation he deserves, he went berserk calling me all kind of names and giving me the worst grade as a bidder. (This is where Aura’s twisted personality came from sorta XD) Did you ever encounter troubles in YJA?
Nowadays, I try to be more careful by checking the seller’s evaluation but there’s no can do if the seamstress picks proxy guy with poor service like this time. Thank god the dress was well worth the wait (‘A`;)
Even though the proxy guy was an ass, the seamstress, Twilight Moon, whom I’ve used for many a time has never let me down. The package was sturdy, the wrappings neat and the content of course was superb 
Btw, the bow and arrows you saw in the pictures above weren’t part of the set. I bought them in Tokyo Dolk: Akihabara which opened in October and I have my friend Baradanji-san to thank for letting me know of this store’s existence :3 They have tons of clothing and miniature accessory (mostly 1/3 scale) and I recommend it to doll owners visiting Japan.
The dress consists of skirt, outer layer skirt, knee socks, upper-wear, hair ornament, choker and the overall design is quite similar to Aura’s red dress. One thing I noticed different was the crease the seamstress pressed on the outer layer skirt to give it a more natural look.
The collar part also kinda resembled Sorahomu’s Puella Magi outfit so thus this title^^;
Another thing I admired about this dress is the part where it allows the stomach to peek without showing
the joint lines. This might be different with a DDS or DDIII tho.
The back side. Plain looking but Sorahomu’s hair covers it all anyway so I don’t mind ;3

Good Zettai-ryouiki (絶対領域) is good.
It was only until after processing these images but I noticed that the knee socks had a diamond patterns which reminds me of Homura’s black panty-hose.
And that pretty much wraps up Sorahomu’s new dress. Wish I took more pictures but coming up with a pose for bows and arrows proved to be a lot harder than it was with swords, spears and guns for some reason^^;

代理出品者のサービスはちといまいちでしたが
ディーラーさん自体は何時もお世話になっている
信頼に置ける方なので今回の取引も結果的には大満足＾＾
似合うと確信できる服しか買わない安全思考ｗ
穹は白黒、アウラは白黒赤・・とテーマ色を決めて節約もしたり
まぁ、その分服のレパートリーが少なかったり、偏ったりするんですけどね＾＾；
矢の色移りは自分もやれらましたわ・・
指の間にぐぐって押し込む時に真っ黒な塗装がこびり付いた時はもう絶望しましたが
早い段階で拭いたのでなんとか元通りに復元
口に咥えていた矢もアイパテでくっ付けていただけなので無問題
でも取り扱いに注意が必要ですね、これ(‘A`;)

ハクさんのカラーアッセを見てみると思う事がありますが、白黒と言うモノトーン調が何処と無くフランス的デザイン趣向のような気がしますね。

That dress looks fabulous, such exquisite detailing. A perfect fit for Sorahomu with its particular atmosphere of elaborate fantasy mixed in with some sensual touches like the partially bare shoulders and few peeks onto the stomach. Very nice. ^^

Trial and error^^; I first tried doing it with the usual double sided tape but since the bonding surface for the arrows were smaller than the stuff I previously used, I resorted to using a sticky glue you use to hold the doll eyes in place. It hardly leaves residue on the doll so tis recommended :3
This dress I think can be just as versatile as Aura’s red dress so do stay tuned for more action (maybe ecchi) XD

Yeah, doll shops in Akihabara besides Volks are so well hidden you’d have to know specifically where it is to get there. This might be all the more for foreigners who aren’t used to our chaotic streets^^;
If you ever get the time, you should also visit Dollce Akihabara. They have a wide variety of good quality wigs and it’s where Sora got hers too!

I remember my first YJA win was a Max Factory Shana figure 3 years ago. The figure went to my sister’s friend who was residing in Japan at that time. The seller had good reputation and claimed the figure was new, but when my sister’s friend came back to Hong Kong several months later for a break I found out that the box looked as if it had not been opened before, the figure has scratches where one had attempted to put the katana through the hair but had failed quite badly. The arm was even bent that I can’t fit the katana into the hand and I had to rebend it after immersing it with hot water several times! Was pretty disappointed but nobody can do anything about it by then as it was already months after the win, and the guy who took the item for me wouldn’t even know about the problems in the first place.
Nice dress there you got for Sorahomu! One can easily imagine this outfit to be in some JRPG game with medieval / fantasy elements.
The top somehow reminds me of a corset of some kind. It’s kinda revealing (such as down along the stomach, revealing shoulders and armpits, and of course zettai-ryouiki) but also graceful in a way, which is something I quite like there. The black clothings on top links well with the outer skirt (even though they seem to be separate parts) as if it’s a big coat over the white dress.
Great poses as usual. Hope I can get to learn something there for my future photography with my BRS and… My 3-year old point-and-shoot camera XD
Whoa….that sounds like bad experience ＞＜ Maybe the guy bought it from another person as brand new, left it unopened and decided to sell the product without checking the insides. Or maybe the guy wanted to make a few bucks on the side from a used figure and decided to disguise the box to look like brand new :/
Although evaluation is the only way to find out about the reputation it’s not always to be trusted since not every buyer gives the mark the seller deserves. I did by giving the bad Mio head seller “非常に悪い” grade and in return the seller also gave me this mark as a revenge^^; (widely known as 報復評価).

It keeps a good balance between sexyness and coolness which I heard many character designers of JRPG are conscious of :3 And like you pointed out, the design is also consistent from top to bottom. Might make clothes swapping a bit hard tho but it’s nice^^
Which reminds me, I saw your BRS post on figure.fm! Love the sexy relaxed pose she’s making on your bed XD If I might add, try to get the camera to focus on the doll’s eyes to prevent blurriness ;3

Thanks for the photography advice! My current camera doesn’t have the function to focus wherever I want it to unfortunately; the fact that it can sometimes recognise the face and focus it there is already a blessing… Maybe I need a new camera soon or later ^^;

Hmm…it’s never too early to buy a better camera because after you buy one, you’re likely going to regret not taking photos you took in the past with a better one just like I did XP

Oh my… wow… that is one of the most stunning outfits I’ve seen Sora in to date (°◇°;) all the details, and color, the openings all on the right places. The metal parts (chains) was a bit overboard (for my taste), but it goes very well with everything. I was surprised to see that you mentioned the auction only ended at 17000 yen. I would of thought it would go much higher because this is just such an awesome outfit. And of cause, I don’t think it would look the same if it wasn’t Sora modeling it (=ω=) Good Job!!

The dress, despite the small trouble I had in acquiring it was well beyond my expectation^^ Surprisingly cheap too^^; Maybe it has to do with the coming dollpa, wonfes and doll show lol? As a stomach-fetish guy the small opening around the buttons were gem themselves XD
The chains might seem excessive but after you look at Sora’s new dress then at Aura’s it’d feels like something is missing^^;

Other than the fact that the arrows stain the fingers like hell, this weapon shows impressive craftsmanship =3 Good thing I waited for this thing to come out at Tokyo Dolk rather than going for the kiddy mini sized bows and arrow toy at YJA^^;

Sora looks amazing with the dress! I ‘m always impressed by the detail of the dresses made by asian people, they always find good materials, and good scaled for DD. In my country, it’s very difficult to find a suitable scaled material, like squares or stripes, and also lacy material
all lacy I find is too thick! Anyway… great photos

I too have no idea where some seamstress are getting the materials from. Even the largest hobby fabric store in Japan, Yuzawaya won’t have some of the materials used in Twilight Moon’s dresses so there must be some kinda mega store in Shanghai or something^^;
