I first want to thank all those who participated in the DD clothes sale in the last post. Although Sora and Aura didn’t need them anymore, it feels good to know that they were passed on to good DD parents I know online as the clothes themselves were somewhat full of memories. Most are sold out now but I might have more to sell in the future so do please keep checking~(-ω-)
Back to the subject, couple of days ago my flickr account was tagged by other users in one of their photos and on them were instructions telling me to upload a picture of my nominated doll, introduce why they were special and tag other DD owners I knew on the site. From the comments, it’d sounded like this was some kind of a customary in the flickr DD group so I went along and posted mine here. The reason why I felt Mio was special was because unlike many DDs out there with a smile on their faces, she had a rather passive or refrained expression which is quite versatile and gives the picture a unique atmosphere. For an example, taking the photo from a high angle while hiding the eyebrow gives her the determined cool look and on the other hand, taking a shot from an low angle revealing them gives her the confused or worried look. (I think this is why she went well with the Homura cosplay). She does well with your normal everyday poses, fighting poses with weapons, cosplays and you’ll find out later in this post that she also does good in the ecchi pics as well XD. Of course, she has her faults like the lack of good photo angle but what fun would DD photography be if you took picture of dolls that looked good in anything anywhere?

Here’s a little something I picked up in Yodobashi Camera Yokohama. Tis a Soul Gem from Madoka Magica you can get it from a Gashapon. They had Madoka, Homura, Mami, Sayaka, Kyoko and 2 rarity which was the black Sayaka Soul Gem and a Grief Seed. Made 4 tries hoping for at least 1 grief seed but this was what I got^^; Seems the Homuhomu was strong in me…?

Terrific photos! Love how you cleverly used posing and photo angle to create a very sensual atmosphere in shots where there is nothing else bare, very, very nice! ^^
From the start I’ve liked how you took a “basic” Mio DD, infused her with a personality and character and really brought that out into the photos. To me you’re one of the DD photographers that brings out the most in their DD’s, including different expressions and atmosphere while using the fixed facial sculpt. Soon after one starts to look at your photos you see a DD Sora and Aura, not a basic Mio.

The setting is the same old lame old but after taking a photo on this place for a while you learn to improvise. This time I did with ecchiness XD
The same could be said for the face mold and I thought I’d end up with like 10 DDs by the end of the first year in the hobby. Never would I’ve thought that I could get so much from Mio

Even after all the mayhem she is capable of, underneath it all Sora can be a really sweet girl (When she wants to be ^^;)
Every girl has their strengths and weakness’ just some more than others I personally find that Akiyama Mio & Morikawa Yuki have the most versatile I’ve seen so far, they seem to have these “context sensitive” faces that just take shape when coupled with the right angle, clothes and background.
Sora sure has some nice Oshiri though~ ;3
“When she wants to be” is right. Even after a year Sora still has that spice in her personality. Not that I mind ;3

I think it’s the comparatively thin make-up they have that allows them to morph into whatever their masters wish them to. The Milhiore coming up in the next Dollpa is cute and all but since her make-up is kinda thick, I don’t think she’ll be able to change much…

Sorry about the sale being so sudden. The white parka was kinda half-reserved by someone I know long before I made the sale post so yeah^^;;; The Azone Sora doll is a custom 1/3 scale doll I bought in Akihabara Radio-Kaikan. All that’s left now is her and the Mio guitar ;3
As for the stories….hmm dunno^^; Bone dry on ideas atm but I might again in the future?
